ENCOMPASS Health Management Systems is an independent managed care company focused exclusively on improving medical outcomes for people in the health plans we serve.

ENCOMPASS was established in 1985 as a wholly owned for profit subsidiary of the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care (IFMC). The IFMC was established in 1971 through the cooperative efforts of business and physicians in response to increasing demands for quality and consistency controls in medicine. The IFMC is a not-for-profit organization and is considered a national leader in evaluating the quality of care provided to Medicare and Medicaid recipients and other government health improvement programs.
