Iowa Hosts Health Information Technology Summit

West Des Moines – More than 275 medical professionals will attend the Summit on Health Information Technology. The Summit is sponsored by the Iowa HIT Initiative to showcase the value of electronic health records in today’s health care settings.

Featured national and local presenters include:

  • Steve Waldren, MD, Assistant Director for the Center for Health Information Technology with the American Academy of Family Physicians,
  • L. Gordon Moore, MD, Assistant Professor in Family Medicine and Community and Preventative Medicine with the University of Rochester Medical Center,
  • R. Ried Boom, MD, Practicing Physician with the Manchester Family Medical Clinic, and
  • Donald Klitgaard, MD, Practicing Physician with the Shelby County Health System.

The Iowa HIT Initiative is led by the Iowa Medical Society and the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care in a collaborative partnership with over 25 other health care organizations to promote the acceleration of adopting interoperable electronic health records to Iowa providers.
